The Awards night organised by the WLGFA County Board was held in recognition of the successful Minor team of 2024 who won both their Munster Intercounty Championship and their All-Ireland championship final as well as the 2023 team who won their Munster championship final and were runners-up that year in the All-Ireland final. The players were presented with their medals by Vice-Captain of the senior team Hannah Power. Delighted to receive their medals also on the night were the U16 team from 2024 who won their respective Munster Intercounty final and were runners up in their All-Ireland championship final last year.
In celebration of the association’s past, present and future a special recognition award was made to members of WLGFA who had served and supported the organisation throughout the years, in acknowledging their unwavering commitment and dedication to Waterford Ladies Football and the community of spirit they represent throughout the county an engraved piece of Waterford crystal was presented to the following; Nora Wall for her unmatched loyal commitment and support, George Young for his dedication to volunteering and development, Áine Wall for her outstanding achievements playing for both club and county, and Michael Ryan for his incredible record as a manager and his continued inspiration to the the Waterford Ladies community. The Waterford LGFA would like to thank the players and their families for joining them in celebration last evening, and they would also like to thank the staff and management of Lawlors Hotel for their professional hospitality, as well as everyone else who made the night possible Eleanor Barry photography, Stephen Shasby DJ, Emma Bracket balloons, David Walshes stationary, and also to the sponsors of the raffle, The Villa, Waterville, Co Kerry, Ní Bhrian Restaurant, Kilmacthomas, Corbett Court, Kilworth and the 360 Dungarvan, who all helped create a wonderful evening of celebration for everyone.
